Putting The Finger On Media Bias

The photographs above were taken during the 2012 LGBT-pride reception held at the White House last week. Showing this kind of disrespectful public behavior has no place in the President's home or anywhere for that matter.

Here is how Dennis Prager begins his National Review Online article on this incident:

Imagine this:

A future Republican president invites tea-party leaders to the White House. Some of them have themselves photographed standing in front of a portrait of President Barack Obama with their middle fingers extended. They then posted these photos on Facebook with the caption “F**k Obama.” (Needless to say, the F-word was spelled out.)

Some questions:

1. How much coverage do you think the national press would give to this?
2. How would Democratic — and Republican — leaders react?
3. How would tea-party activists react?

The "real life" event got this result in the traditional media:

Not a word about it appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, or on NPR . . . . There was no coverage on ABC News, NBC News, or CBS News.
Read the rest of Prager's observations on media bias as well as his answers to the other two questions here.

Very enlightening. It's no wonder new media formed to fill such an obvious information vacuum.

The Foreign Press Asks The Right Question About Dog-Gate

Bo's official portrait
It is pathetic that American readers have to look beyond their border not only for reliable news but also for the right questions, even those involving the most mundane of subjects. That brings us to what some are calling Dog-Gate. Who among us hasn't heard about Mitt Romney's family dog, Seamus, and his wild car top ride? The horror. On the other hand, who among us knew that Barrack Obama ate dog meat during his five-year stay in Indonesia when he was a boy? It's right there in his book, Dreams From My Father (1995), a source that hit the press seventeen years ago.

Is there something else we should know? That's the reason why Americans who care about their news sources need to pay far more attention to the foreign press and its - usually -  more objective look at our political scene. The lefty media mouthpieces in the United States - we all know who they are - simply cannot be trusted as a sole news source any longer.

Dr. Tim Stanley is a young British historian specializing in the American experience. A Labour Party member, a Roman Catholic, and a pragmatist with a keen sense of humor, Stanley approaches his work much like a master rhetor would pursue a debate. The product is enlightening. Here is what he has to say about the real meaning of Dog-Gate.

The Cancer We Know As The Liberal Media

Here's one story that will never make broadcast news!

Was there ever any doubt that our leftist traditional media protected candidate Barack Obama from the destructive revelations of the true nature of his Black Liberation Theology minister, the Rev Jeremiah "God damn America" Wright? If you had any doubt, it was erased today by the blog, The Daily Caller.

Caller has obtained records of a Journolist "alliance" to ignore the Wright story beginning as early as mid-April 2008 following an ABC New debate moderated by Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopolous. Both moderators posed pointed questions to Obama about his relationship with Wright as well as doubts about the minister's love of country. The alliance persisted throughout the campaign and was a significant contribution to the success of the Obama campaign. It was also a remarkable - unforgivable - disservice to the American voting public.

Here's the scope of the cover-up:
Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.
